Fifty cents / Confederate States of America. [1863-1864]

Fractional currency notes issued in Richmond, Va. between April 6, 1863 and Feb. 17, 1864. The notes are numbered and signed on pink tinted paper. The1863 notes state that they are redeemable, "Six months after the ratification of a treaty of peace between the Confederate States and United States." The 1864 notes read: "Two years after the ratification of a treaty ..."
